Specializations

Trauma

Trauma can shape the way we think, feel, relate, and respond to the world — often long after the event itself has passed. It may show up as anxiety, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, difficulty trusting others, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Healing from trauma involves gently increasing awareness, building safety within the body and mind, and creating new pathways for resilience and regulation.

Anxiety

Anxiety can feel like a constant undercurrent of worry, tension, or “what if” thinking that is difficult to turn off. It may show up as racing thoughts, sleep disruption, irritability, physical tension, or feeling on edge even when nothing is immediately wrong. In therapy, we work to understand the roots of your anxiety, strengthen coping strategies, and build skills to help you feel more grounded and in control.

Depression

Depression is more than feeling sad. It can show up as low energy, loss of motivation, difficulty concentrating, irritability, changes in sleep or appetite, or feeling disconnected from yourself and others. In therapy, we work to understand the underlying factors contributing to your symptoms while building practical strategies to restore hope, structure, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Life Transitions

Life transitions — whether expected or unexpected — can disrupt your sense of stability and identity. Changes such as career shifts, relationship changes, parenthood, relocation, or personal growth milestones often bring both opportunity and uncertainty. Therapy provides a structured space to process change, clarify direction, and move forward with intention and confidence.

Burnout

Burnout is more than feeling tired — it is a state of emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion caused by prolonged stress. You may feel drained, detached, irritable, or unmotivated, even in areas that once felt meaningful. Therapy provides space to identify the sources of chronic stress, restore boundaries, and rebuild sustainable patterns that protect your energy and well-being.

Identity

Identity shapes how you see yourself, how you relate to others, and how you move through the world. At times, life experiences, cultural expectations, or major transitions can leave you questioning who you are or who you are becoming. Therapy offers space to explore your values, strengths, and lived experiences so that you can build a more grounded and authentic sense of self.

Chronic Illness

Chronic illness often requires continuous adaptation — physically, emotionally, and socially. Managing medical treatment while maintaining work, family, and personal responsibilities can feel overwhelming. My approach supports clients in navigating stress, grief, and identity shifts related to illness while building resilience and realistic self-compassion.

Approach

At Healing Vibes Counseling, therapy is not one-size-fits-all.  My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and rooted in respect for each person’s lived experience. I draw from several evidence-based and relational frameworks to meet you where you are and help you move toward growth and restoration.

Trauma-Informed

Grounded in an understanding of how trauma affects the body, mind, and relationships, this approach prioritizes safety, choice, and empowerment. Together, we focus on helping you regain a sense of control and reconnect with parts of yourself that past experiences may have shaped.

Relational

Healing happens through connection. In our work together, the therapeutic relationship becomes a space to explore patterns of trust, boundaries, and self-expression. This process helps you develop healthier relationships — both with others and with yourself.

Strengths-Based

Rather than focusing solely on problems, we identify the inner strengths, skills, and resources that have carried you through challenges. This perspective helps build confidence, resilience, and hope for lasting change.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps you recognize the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By identifying unhelpful patterns, you can begin to reframe beliefs and practice new ways of thinking that align with your goals and values.

Somatic Awareness

Because trauma and stress often live in the body, somatic techniques invite mindfulness and awareness of physical sensations. These practices support nervous-system regulation and promote healing through grounding and embodiment.

Culturally Responsive and Equity-Centered

Our experiences are shaped by culture, identity, and systemic forces. This approach ensures therapy honors your full context — including race, gender, faith, family, and community — while affirming your dignity and resilience.

Attachment-Focused

Understanding early relationship patterns helps uncover how you connect, trust, and respond in the present. Attachment-based work supports the development of secure, balanced relationships and self-compassion.

Integrative & Reflective Practice

I draw from multiple evidence-based models and tailor them to your unique needs. Sessions invite reflection, self-awareness, and growth at a pace that feels sustainable and respectful of your journey.
