Tashau Asefaw

Welcome!  I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with more than 17 years of experience supporting individuals in strengthening insight, building resilience, and improving overall quality of life.

I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Seattle University in 2007 and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from University of Washington in 2009. In 2015, I completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Capella University, which expanded my understanding of systems, leadership, and the broader structures that shape individual and community well-being.

I was born and raised in Seattle and the surrounding communities. My commitment to this work is deeply personal. Growing up in a family impacted by substance use, mental health challenges, and incarceration shaped my understanding of resilience, trauma, and the importance of accessible, compassionate care. Those experiences inform both my clinical lens and my commitment to culturally responsive practice.

Much of my professional background has been in integrated healthcare settings, including primary care and inpatient environments. In primary care, I worked closely with physicians and psychiatrists to provide collaborative behavioral health services, ensuring that mental health care was coordinated, accessible, and aligned with whole-person treatment goals.

I believe healing is not about becoming someone different — it is about reconnecting with your strength, clarity, and capacity. I look forward to supporting you in that process.
